Play Space Improvement

Aberdeen Play Forum works together with community volunteers, Aberdeen Greenspace, Aberdeen City Council and corporate volunteers to rejuvenate play spaces.  Everyone is invited to get hands on – scrubbing, painting and litter-picking.  Just a wee face lift, but it just turns a tired looking park into an inviting play area for families in the area.   We’ve also put in funding bids to improve areas requiring that little bit more attention.

Shell Oil UK generously provided funding to the Aberdeen Play Forum (APF) to employ a Play Development Worker to support the improvement of play spaces in Torry.   After a look around the play spaces in Torry it was identified that Girdleness Road Play park was in particular need of attention.
A bid for funding from Aberdeen International Airport’s Trust Challenge Fund for £25,000 to renovate the park at Girdleness Road was successful, with Aberdeen City agreeing to provide match-funding.
